KINTSUGI

"Don't grieve, anything you lose comes around in a new form"

Rumi

This idea exists across cultures and time.

In Japan, there is Kintsugi - the art of repairing broken pottery with gold. The cracks are not hidden. They are honoured.

"We're stronger in the places that we've been broken"

Ernest Hemingway

There is also Wabi-sabi, the belief that beauty lives in imperfection, in things that show time and use.

As this year comes to an end, it’s worth remembering this: what broke, what changed, what didn’t go as planned - none of it was wasted. It shaped you.

The new year isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about carrying what you’ve learned forward and building something better with it. Not perfect. Just real and meaningful.
