“Above all, don’t lie to yourself”
Dostoevsky
This is not about morality.
It’s about clarity.
Stoics understood this deeply.
Marcus Aurelius wrote:
“Be tolerant with others and strict with yourself.”
Why?
Because growth doesn’t start by fixing the world.
It starts by seeing yourself.
No excuses. No blame.
This skill has a modern name:
The ability to notice your own thoughts instead of becoming them.
To see fear, ego, and comfort for what they are, and still choose your action.
When you practice this, something powerful happens
The Japanese call it.
The immovable mind.
Not rigid.
Not cold.
Just steady.
Pressure comes, and you don’t break.
Noise rises, and you don’t react.
Work gets hard, and you don’t lie to yourself.
As we step into a new year, let this be our real resolution:
Be honest with ourselves
Be disciplined without cruelty
Be calm under pressure
Be steady in our work
Still. Clear. On fire.
Have a strong Monday!
